The Everglades Trust endorsed Republican gubernatorial candidate Byron Donalds a day after he unveiled water quality proposals, Florida Politics reports. CEO Anna Upton said the group believes Donalds would continue Gov. Ron DeSantis’ restoration efforts and help secure state and federal funding. Donalds promised to complete Everglades restoration during his administration and protect Florida’s water supplies. The endorsement comes as the Everglades Agricultural Area Reservoir is projected to reach completion in 2029.
