The story in brief
Florida Politics reports that Hurricane Isaias came ashore in Destin as a Category 2 storm, after which Gov. Ron DeSantis described recovery work underway. About 377,000 customers were without power, with Washington County suffering the most severe outages per resident. State crews planned to begin clearing roads and deploying rescue teams early Saturday. DeSantis also warned residents about generator and flood hazards as restoration efforts continued.
