The story in brief

The Floridian reports that Gov. Ron DeSantis announced completion of the $100 million Oslo Road interchange with I-95 in Indian River County, a year ahead of schedule. DeSantis said it would shorten trips to the interstate and could serve as a hurricane evacuation route. Transportation Secretary Jared Perdue said improved access would help first responders. DeSantis also described a nearby relocation site for protected gopher tortoises.
